Frequently asked questions
Won't I be covered by household insurance?
Even if you have household insurance:
- You may not be covered for breakdown caused by mishaps or mechanical breakdown
- Portable products may not be covered
- Your annual premium may increase after you claim
Can I buy product support from someone else?
Yes. We recommend that you compare what other companies offer as sometimes they will only cover the cost of repair if your product has a mechanical fault or, they may not guarantee speed of service.
Can I buy Whatever Happens™ product support from Currys, Currys.digital or PC World at a later date?
Yes, you can buy product support up to 12 months from purchasing your product. We won't be able to offer Whatever Happens™ on a product that has been damaged.
What happens if you cannot fix my product?
If your product is beyond repair, or we can't get the necessary parts and do the repair within 10 days for Premier Club or 28 days for Club, we'll replace it.
If you purchased Whatever Happens™ 'pay as you go', and your product is replaced, your Customer Support Agreement will end and you can purchase a new Whatever Happens™ Customer Support Agreement with your replacement product.
If you have purchased a pay once Whatever Happens™ Support Agreement and your product is replaced, your agreement will end (except if it qualified for Instant Replacement) and you will receive vouchers for the remaining value of your Whatever Happens™ Customer Support Agreement to use when you next buy Whatever Happens™.
For non-pristine/previously owned products a 10 or 28-day replacement will not apply. If we cannot repair your product we will supply vouchers to the value of the purchase price paid.
If Currys, Currys.digital or PC World went out of business, would my product(s) still be protected?
Yes. Our promise is to protect our customers Whatever Happens™ Customer Support Agreements. There is an independently managed trust fund to meet all our obligations to our Whatever Happens™ customers.
What’s not included?
- Regularly replaced items/consumable items
- Built-in batteries
- Cosmetic damage where it does not affect the operation or safety of the product
- Repair costs that have not been approved
- Damage or breakdown due to flood, wind or other severe weather conditions
- The cost of repairing or replacing a product which fails because anyone neglects, abuses or misuses the product
- Any service or benefit where the Whatever Happens™ agreement has been suspended
- Inoperability of a product caused by withdrawal of services by a third party.
- Theft or any loss suffered if you cannot use the product or any loss other than repair or replacement
- Any claim where your monthly payment has not been received
- Data recovery for Apple Mac and Linux® operating systems
- Cost of Data Recovery if unit needs to be sent to a specialist laboratory
- Image retention on Plasma LCD, LED or rear projection TVs and pixel dropout (inside manufacturers specification) on LCD, LED TVs
- Protection for dishwashers, vacuum cleansers, cooking and laundry products if used for business
How do I cancel my Whatever Happens™ Agreement?
If you have Whatever Happens™ 'pay as you go' you can cancel within 14 days of purchase by calling Whatever Happens™ Customer Services on 0844 561 4000 and providing the service has not been used we'll give you a refund of any payment made. After this period you can cancel at anytime by calling Whatever Happens™ Customer Services, but please note that if you do this you will not receive a refund.
If you are not completely satisfied with your Whatever Happens™ Customer Support Agreement, you can cancel it within 45 days of purchase. Please call Whatever Happens™ Customer Services on 0844 561 4000 and if you haven't used the service we'll give you a full refund. If you want to cancel your Whatever Happens™ Customer Support Agreement 45 days from purchase, you'll be entitled to a pro-rata refund.
You may also give notice of your intention to cancel your Whatever Happens™ Customer Support Agreement by writing to Whatever Happens™ Customer Services.
Who do I contact if I have a problem with my Whatever Happens™ agreement?
We are confident that we will deliver on our promises, but if we do disappoint please call our Customer Services team on 0844 561 4000 so we can resolve your problem quickly.
How do I change my bank details?
For security reasons you will need to ring customer services on 0844 561 4000 to change your bank details. Your updated details will be sent to you through the post.
